One of the things I love about our church is the many ways people give of themselves. The other thing I love is the diversity of the "body of Christ" who worship together. Wonderfully there is an upcoming event that combines those two things I appreciate. recently built an elevator as an invitation to those who cannot do steps so easily to worship with us. Now we have to pay for that elevator. We are having an ART and PHOTO SHOW and Charlie and Allan are donating thier art work. 100% of the earnings from this Art Show will be donated to LIFTUP! (our elevator fund).

Paintings by Charlie Powell
Charlie Powell has always been interested in art, although his profession was owning a professional Pharmacy for 40 years. Now he mixes paints in a mortar and pestle instead of medicines. He began painting in 2003. Martha Lohaus, of Willowbrook studio in Columbia has been his primary art instructor. He has also attended several week long classes in other parts of the country. His medium is acrylic. He loves working with color and it gives him great pleasure to produce a painting that he likes and others enjoy. He does both realistic and abstract painting. He also likes to photograph flowers and make notecards from his works. Charlie has been in several art shows locally and is represented by Tag Galleries in Fells Point Baltimore
Nature Photography by Allan Lohaus
For more than twenty years, Allan has been capturing color images of nature and wildlife on expeditions to Alaska, Africa, the Alps, Australia, Canada, the Grand Canyon, Maine, New Hampshire, New Zealand, and the Russian Far East.
His Artist Statement: Wild places assure me of a vital bond with nature. In vast expanses untouched by human designs, infinite images fill the panoramas, and I join with all creation and know my place in the world.
